How often?
For most Gold Coast homes, once a year. If you're within about a kilometre of the beach, the Broadwater or a canal, every six months is better, because salt build-up on springs and fasteners is the main cause of the failures we see.
Between services
- Hose the outside of the door down with fresh water every few weeks if you live close to the water.
- Keep the bottom track and floor seal free of sand and leaves.
- Test the auto-reverse monthly by closing the door on a piece of timber laid flat.
