What we do
- Motor repairs – drive gears, logic boards, capacitors, limit settings and force adjustment.
- New openers – sized to the door's weight and how often it's used, with a soft start and stop.
- Remotes and keypads – replacement remotes, extra handsets, wall buttons and wireless keypads coded in minutes.
- Smartphone control – open, close and check the door from your phone, with alerts if it's left open.
- Battery backup – keeps the door working through the summer storm power cuts.
- Safety beams – fitted and aligned so the door reverses if a child, pet or car is in the way.
Repair the motor or replace it?
If a motor is under about ten years old and parts are available, a repair usually makes sense. Older units, motors that are now discontinued, or openers that have been struggling with an unbalanced door for years are better replaced. Before fitting any new motor, we check the door's springs and balance first. A new motor on a heavy, unbalanced door will fail early.
Signs your opener is on the way out
- It hums or clicks but the door doesn't move.
- The door stops and reverses for no reason.
- Remotes only work when you're right at the door.
- It's noticeably slower or louder than it used to be.

Motors & Remotes: common questions
Can you program a new remote to my existing motor?
In most cases, yes. Bring us the brand and model or a photo of the motor label and we'll bring compatible remotes.
Is battery backup worth it on the Gold Coast?
If you rely on the garage as your main entry, yes. Storm season power cuts are common, and battery backup lets you keep using the door on the remote.
Which garage door motor brands do you work on?
We work on B&D, Merlin, ATA, Gliderol, Centurion, Grifco, Steel-Line and most common imported openers.
